Meet Christy

I come from a family of travelers. My parents traveled extensively when they were young, toting myself and my brothers around the world. That gene has stuck with me for life, and after years of working in the software industry I realized it was time to make a change and do something more personally meaningful.

My family and I travel abroad every summer, us parents working remotely, while the kids go to summer camps in different countries around the world. We've discovered some truly amazing international summer camps that the kids absolutely love. They create lifelong memories, meet children from around the world, and get to experience new cultures. And, most of these camps are much less expensive than camps in North America!

It has brought our family so much joy and amazing experiences, that I wanted to share this with other families by starting WanderWorks. I want families to understand that you don't have to relocate completely to experience life abroad, and you can do it while working remotely with the kids happily occupied at camp.

That said, finding these camps isn't easy or quick (and we are all busy!), as they need to be vetted to make sure they work for a predominately-English-speaking audience who's used to American-style summer camps (day or overnight). That takes a lot of work: research, vetting, conversations, and camp visits. But for me, the joy is in the discovery, and I want to make sure other families can get the benefit of that work!
